Community Advisory Panel

Dow created its Community Advisory Panel (CAP) with a goal of building trust, cooperation and mutual respect between our company and the communities where our employees live and work.

The Great Lakes Bay Area CAP was created in 1990 to help maintain communication between the community and Dow. Its members, who are nominated and selected by the CAP, are selected to reflect the community and its issues. Along with their own viewpoints, members are also encouraged to express views from their organizations and other community members.

The purpose of the Great Lakes Bay Area CAP is to:

• Provide a means for open, honest, two-way communication between Dow and the community in order to build trust and credibility
• To enable community members to ask questions or comment upon Dow’s operations and activities
• To provide a way for Dow representatives to learn about community concerns
• To create a mechanism for Dow to provide information and get feedback its goals and operations

The CAP is made up of company representatives and members of the public who represent a broad cross-section of the Great Lakes Bay Area. Currently, the CAP has individuals from area businesses, nature conservancy groups, law enforcement, education, ecumenical organizations, public service, health service, and residents close to the manufacturing site.

CAP meetings occur once a month from September through May and are intended to ensure open and timely communication on matters of interest between Dow and the community.
